Goddess of Spring // Penhaligon's Ostara

Saturday, 4 April 2015

I was first introduced to Penhaligon's Ostara in the peak of Winter last year by Penhaligon's lovely PR genius Lauren MacAskill and Master Perfumer behind this new fragrance Bertrand Duchaufour in the most beautifully decorated room at Sketch and was instantly taken by this daffodil infused scent- the contrast of this 'spring in a bottle' fragrance to the dreariness of the dreadfully cold London streets made it even more welcomed!

A few weeks ago I was kindly invited to the Ostara launch party at Clifton Nurseries and what a fabulous evening it was, the entire room (pretty enough to be a wedding venue may I add!) was dressed head to toe in daffodils, fairy lights and fragrance- it was a springtime haven! Even the cocktails were daffodil infused- they were delicious! So after being lucky enough to attend now two amazing Ostara events I thought it was about time to my review this newly launched Penhaligon's scent especially with  Easter fast approaching and Spring finally in the is in the air, it just couldn't be a more perfect time to introduce this scent to you!

DISCOVER OSTARA...

Ostara is the ultimate springtime fragrance for those of you who love nothing more than the fresh, springtime 'pick-me-up' and partial to a floral number (definitely me!!)

Master Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour created this fragrance using his own childhood memories of abundant, sweet narcissus flowers in Aurvergne in France to capture the optimism and sunlight that spring brings. Ostara is named after the goddess of Spring and represents resurgence from bulb to bud to bloom.

I find it quite tricky to describe exactly what Ostara smells of because it really has captured the scent of the daffodil mixed with the freshness and green, earthiness of uplifting springtime walks in the fresh air- you really have to head to your nearest Penhaligon's fragrance boutiques to smell it for yourself, I love it so much and its marked such a special time for me in my life I know I'll forever cherish Ostara.
