Complexion Transition

Saturday, 16 March 2013

I was out this morning walking the rainy streets of Marylebone with my friend Lucy and we were discussing the change of season in terms of beauty and found that we both completely change the way we apply our makeup as soon as the sun comes out.
I for one have already made my spring time transition and updated my foundation, plus I've started using an illuminating primer to really enhance natural radiance and create a real fresh and pretty glow.
The few days of sunshine we've had over the few weeks have promoted me to start experimenting with my highlighters and pinky tone cream blushers in the hope to create an 'English Rose' fresh spring time feel to my face.
Especially as my my complexion is starting to really reveal the results of pure luxurious hydration I feel this is the perfect time to make my complexion transition as I've been concentrating on keeping it super nourished using my newest skincare discovery Ark age aware skincare range (blog post to follow).

The Perfect Duo

Chanel Perfection Lumiere is my new foundation and matched with the Illuminating Sheer Base, these products make the most perfect complexion duo.
I've never used or owned a Chanel foundation so was, as you can imagine, incredibly excited and intrigued to see if it lived up to its rather sterling name as a foundation...the verdict.... YES!
Not only does Perfection Lumiere glide onto the skin like silk it blends very easily and feels totally nourishing plus most importantly offers the perfect amount of even coverage (smells lovely and fresh too). The fluid and light texture of this foundation smooths onto the skin so seamlessly and really lasts all day, normally with foundations I've used in the past I almost always have to reapply my foundation after my day if I plan to go out after work but with this foundation I've found it remains intact, with only the need to powder my slightly shiny t-zone area to feel more 'done'.
I would describe the overall look of Perfection Lumiere as being natural, glowing (not a dewy finish) and completely matte which is my idea of complexion heaven as I love to look airbrushed but not caked on with a radiant subtle glow.
Before I applied my foundation I used Chanel's Sheer Illuminating Base which is my foundations new best friend...they work SO well together in creating such a beautiful glow. This Illuminating Base can either be used on its own on bare skin to add a lovely glow to the face, used underneath your foundation or you can even mix it in with your foundation which I'll probably do in the peak of summer for added glow.

Vitamin Cocktail

Les Beiges De Chanel is Chanel's answer to a healthy glowing face and the final product in my transition complexion and preparation for spring time. Firstly this goes without saying but how beautiful is the ivory compact!? Stunning.
I love the concept behind this pretty compact, the idea of an entitre powder compact dedicated to give you a 'healthy glow' quite frankily I love it and love the fact it does exactly that.
The formula is enriched with as Vogue calls it, a 'vitamin cocktail', active botanical ingredients make this powder surge your skin with goodness! The cotton flower and white rose plant cells reproduce the effect of glowing skin. This powder will from now on remain in my hand bag at all times, so I can instantly add the spring time glow I've been craving.
