Cheese and Wine at La Cave

Sunday, 3 March 2013

La Cave a Fromage situated in South Kensington is my latest food discovery...being the cheese and wine obsessed girl I am I simply had to check this place out for myself, in the hope for it to be my new local cheese and wine hangout.
La Cave started off supplying farmhouse and artisan cheeses to some of the best restaurants in London over fifteen years ago and since then has grown into not only a supplier of these fantastic cheeses but with two shop/restaurants of their own in South kensington and Brighton.

The idea of La Cave is to bring rare and wonderful cheeses to the masses and with over 350 cheeses to choose from you're quite literally spoilt for choice! That's why the friendly and super knowledgeable staff are on hand to share as much as they know about the cheeses they sell and to educate people as much as possible- taking customer service to the next level.
I was very impressed when Nicolas, the shop owner, explained that in order for the staff to maintain a deep connection with their extensive range of cheeses they are regularly sent to farms in France to help make the cheeses themselves and learn the beauty of each individual cheese in accordance to the change of seasons.
As much as La Cave is a shop that you can easily pop into to pick up your cheeses for special occasions and suchlike, what I love most about this place is that you can grab a table with friends and enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese board complete with freshly baked bread....to me this is my idea of heaven. Does it get any better than delicious cheeses, superb wine and great company?! I think not.

There's nothing more I can say about La Cave, just pop in and check it for yourself or book in for a cheese and wine tasting evening held every Thursday... you won't be disappointed.
