I've just returned from an absolutely Incredible stay at Careys Manor and SenSpa and just had to share with you all straight away every detail of my luxurious experience.
As soon as I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was instantly teased with how relaxed I was about to be during my stay as the tranquil atmosphere infused with essential SenSpa oils set me up for what I was about to experience...
After my chai green tea I was given a tour of the oriental themed spa and an explanation of each of the state-of-the-art hydrotherapy facilities before getting changed and entering the spa for an afternoon of pure relaxation. As I was shown around the spa I was already starting to feel relaxed, the spa really does have everything you could possible want under one roof in terms of spa facilities.
I spent hours unwinding in the hydrotherapy pool, herbal sauna, exotic sea storm showers and crystal steam room. The entire spa area is an exotic candle lit haven that made me feel like I'd been quite literally taken away to a luxurious Thai resort. After hours of relaxing in the different pools and heated rooms I retired to the relaxation room where I read magazines, drank tea and snacked on fruit before my treatment.
I booked in to have a Hot Stone Massage which was a recommendation of a staff member at Carey's Manor and I'm so pleased I took his advice as it was out of this world without any exaggeration. 60 minutes of being massaged using heated basalt stones using traditional techniques to deeply relax each area of the body. This warming massage is a perfect winter treat that everyone should allow themselves to experience every once in a while. It was so refreshing to enter the hotel on such a cold dreary day and be completely warmed and soothed with this fantastic massage, warming me to the core.
After my treatment I was taken to my room which was alot bigger than I expected it to be, I had a superior room which truly lived up to its name as the bed was unbelievably comfortable (and humongous!) and had a nice lounge area with glass doors opening out to a beautifully manicured garden with chairs and a table should you wish to sit outside (maybe not until the warmer months of the year). I was most impressed to find a lovely bottle of Champagne and box of chocolates courtesy of Careys Manor! I loved all of the special touches that hotel and spa offered, making my stay so perfect.
I enjoyed a traditional Thai evening meal at the Zen Garden restaurant, there are three restaurants at the hotel but Thai being one of my favourite cuisines I had to choose Zen Garden. The service could not have been better and my waitor made some helpful recommendations for me to try.
This luxury retreat based in the heart of the Newforest is somewhere I highly recommend, its the most unique and sophisticated weekend away to totally relax and unwind from the business of our hectic London lives. This would also make the perfect Valentines or Mothers day treat!
