Product of the week- Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder

Saturday, 14 May 2011

I was excited to see how Chanels lose powder measured up, after hearing great reviews from friends and from the Vogue beauty team I decided it was about time I tried it out for myself being the beauty product obsessed queen that I am.
I've tried lots of different finishing powders and Laura Mercier's is probably the best of the bunch, and although it is long lasting and a pleasure to apply I'm not a big fan of the shimmer it leaves behind, especially when the light hits my face, so was very keen to find a powder that ticked all the right boxes.
Right, enough of that lets get straight to the point... First of all as you can see from the photo above Chanels signature packaging never fails to put a smile on our face, it instantly reassures us that our money has been well spent, and that's all without even trying the product! The tub costs £30 and holds 30g of powder which from my research will last roughly a year, using it on a daily basis which is great value for money. After applying your foundation, take the powder puff out of the tub secure the lid and gently shake to release the powder, following this lightly dip the puff into the tub and pat the face until all areas are covered, paying special attention to the T-zone area which is prone to oil.
Using Chanels loose powder will leave your face looking flawless and professionally finished almost giving it an air brushed effect, which is always nice!
The great thing about Chanels loose powder is it does not leave a dusty layer behind like most finishing powders, or shimmer for that matter! And being translucent it doesn't change or effect the colour of your foundation. I can only describe this product as an investment for your make-up bag and once again, Chanel you have not failed to disappoint!
